Announcements

I intended on posting all this a week ago but, life just seems to happen sometimes! So, first things first:

My Schedule:

Starting next week Monday, I will be "closed" for at least 2 weeks while Jim recovers from his knee surgery. It is my turn to wait on him hand and foot! I will still be answering e-mails and I will be posting updates.

A big thank you those of you that placed your orders early so I could get them done this week! I will finalize those orders this weekend.

I have one more opening for September and two for August. With the exception of newborns, you know these are near and dear to my heart and I always try to work these in but please call prior to your due date so we can pencil you in.


Things to come:

I am working hard on adding some new products to my offerings and packages. I cannot wait to show you these! Some are in production as I type this, the rest I am still designing. I will post pictures as soon as it all comes together...you're going to LOVE them!

I will try to continue to post during my time off....in the mean time, here are some beauties from my kitchen...

That's what we do for fun here in Florida when there is a hurricane. Although, I feel a bit like Noah and the ark.....we seem to be the only one with these hideous things up on our windows. Oh well, better safe than sorry. So bring it on Fay....we are ready for ya!!!

Heart and *Sole*

I cannot tell you how many times I stumble over all the shoes strewn about my closet-some never worn-annoyed by their mere presence in the midst of my typical chaotic day. The same goes for my daughter and a dresser drawer full of nothing but shoes....most never worn. Well, that is until I heard a story on the radio that changed my attitude really quick! This story told of orphanages in countries all over the world that don't have enough shoes to cover the feet of their orphans. Something so simple, a pair of shoes, that we take for granted every single day. Well, there is good news! All thanks to the Joy F.M. and their mission to collect 10,000 pairs of NEW shoes throughout the month of August. Along with Buckner International, they will be hand delivering these shoes to orphans and and at-risk children on a mission trip to Guatemala. Feeling a bit vintage

I should be working....I should be editing all those fabulous baby images. But, I just had to take time away to play. These are the flowers I saved from our wedding....dead but not forgotten. Yes, this is how I play. Sad. I know. Ok...back to work!!

At just 7 months old he still has that intoxicating baby smell...and he is so soft and sweet. Really, he smiled like this the whole time! I told his Mommy if I could clone him, I would SO have just 1 more. Yes honey, just one ;)

9 days new

Perfection.....that's what baby "L" is. This is one lucky little girl! She is surrounded with pure love by a pretty amazing family. Her parents are pretty lucky too, and patient. After 4 hours of shooting, they were still smiling! Maybe they were just glad to see me leave lol!

Race to the finish

As if shooting a family of 11 wasn't challenging enough, I was in a race against the clock with the weather...... and the weather was winning! Pretty blue sky behind this AWESOME family... ugly, dark black clouds behind me. I have never had to shoot so fast in my life. If it wasn't for their wonderful sense of humor and upbeat spirits it would have been a total mess.

Just me

I really dislike doing self portraits and I haven't done one in about a year so I figured it was time for an update. You have to laugh at how I just kept cropping and cropping....and cropping some more until this was all that remained. Vain? Uh, no. Just a little self conscious!

Coming to an end....

Our vacation is coming to an end...so very sad. Found a new spot to shoot, too bad it's 45 mins away from home at $4+ a gallon!! Oh well. More images to come later from our evening.......for now it's off to bed :)

The ~sweet~ amongst the ~sour~

Its always something.....I find myself saying this more and more. That's the way life goes I suppose. Politics, the economy and now my latest soap box....insurance companies. Why am I ranting? Well, we are on vacation and although we did not plan anything extravagant we were all looking forward to some down time together. But, as life goes, we found ourselves in the urgent care with Jim on Saturday. His knee has finally given out on him and we have been playing the waiting game with our insurance company. In the mean time.....my darling husband is going stir crazy MAD! Stuck in a brace, in severe pain and flat on the couch (under my strict orders!)....he finally had enough. So, off we went for a ride around town and in search of some good light. So, although surgery may lay ahead along with more waiting, we have so much to be grateful for. There is much joy, wonder in her eyes and her smile....I am envious of this bliss, of the innocence. For her there are no soap boxes. But, I must say...I am back in "domestic goddess" bliss. I really have missed it.

.....with legs! She wanted oatmeal and cheese this morning for breakfast and that is what she got! Anything for her.....anything. Really....just ask daddy, and brothers. I think we are all in big trouble...down the road that is. Oh well....someones got to be the princess around here and I think I lost my crown when she came into this world!!

Besides, I have really fallen in love with pink and brown and now I just see it in everything. You should see me in the fabric store...insert eye roll here.....

Oh how I love Fridays!

Holding my breath...

I have been without a computer all weekend. It has been dying a slow death and I have been in severe denial. Finally the inevitable happened and thanks to my darling husband I am fully operational again.....we hope! I am a bit behind but am working diligently to catch up on e-mails, editing and orders. So, lets see what else I was up to this weekend....playing with yet another darling little newborn. This little guy is only 9 days old and slept for me the whole time- even smiled for me. Unfortunately, I can only TELL you how gorgeous his eyes are because the only time I saw them was when the camera was out of my hands!

This little angel is just barely 1 week old. I did not want to leave....I could have kept shooting all morning!

Little Lucas

I should not even be peaking at these...but I could not help myself! This little fella is 4 weeks old and so precious. I think he is the calmest baby I have ever met. He is SO loved and he knows it....has not a care in the world. His parents are pretty incredible too. You would never know this is their first baby! I felt so privileged to have captured a glimpse of their life :)

He is now 13. I still cannot wrap my head around how that happened so stinkin fast! I get a lot of requests to see more of Jesse and I always have this guilty mom complex that I don't take enough pictures of my oldest kid! Besides, I have sooooo much to be proud of. Lets see....honor roll student, plays guitar (electric & acoustic...he plays a "Stairway to heaven" that will blow your mind!)), plays clarinet, enrolled in chorus, knows more physics than I do (jeeeez), Jr.Cadet soon to be Explorer, loves to attend youth group at church every Wednesday w/o fail! Shall I go on?? Not to mention he is an awesome older brother especially to his little sister.....who he affectionately refers to as "little girl". He has more patience with her than I do most days. Wish some of that patience carried over to his brother! Oh well. He's still perfect to me :) The teen years are here....and I know this may all change as he changes. I know that this now makes me OLD....not that I did not already feel that way! I think I need to dig through his baby pictures and post a few *cringe* which are very sparse and quite bad! Which is why I now am camera obsessed!

Turning two....

I learned a lot from "L" today...she taught me how to say camera in spanish along with many other words I don't dare try to repeat because I know I will butcher them! She is as beautiful as she is smart.....and absolutly no sign of the terrible twos. Maybe my little princess could take lessons from this little one!
